I was wondering if anyone out there has ever been faced with such a layered botched up crown that the only way out seems to be shaving my entire head. After waiting 19 months to grow out my hair I am faced with the only solution I can think of. Can anyone give me some feedback.

Dont do anything drastic!!!! Exactly how long is your hair now? There are plenty of really cute short cuts out there right now and I'd love to recommend one. Do not hesitate in calling the salon who's hairstylist did this to you to give them a piece of your mind, only if it was his/her fault completely. Even if they offer I wouldn't go back for a fix up. Ask a trusted friend or even someone at hairtalk which hairstylist they go to in your area and then have the problem fixed.Good Luck!!!

Please either post or email description of your haircut you have now and I will try to come to your rescue. Please include a detailed description of your faceshape/hair as it is and what you are trying to grow it out to be and I am sure we can arrive at a less painful way out! william email-wrb@gorilla.net

I had my hair cut two days ago. The hairstylist I went to refused to shave me. She tried to give me some kind of style, which she did, however, with the original cut all she could try to do was keep shaping me into a bob. The problem I have is my whole crown was layered into a ball. The original idiot who cut me said she was accentuating my occipital. Have you ever heard of that? My hair is more wavy than curly. The side that is more wavy than curly has a courser texture hair. As my hair tries to go back it keeps wanting to meet the other layers, however my hair doesn't grow in circles around my crown. It is as though the point of my head is spiralling. I just don't ever see myself having a normal head of hair again. I have kind of an egg-shaped head. It is on the small side. My occiptial is layered into a ball all by itself. I hope this makes sense to you. My whole head was cut to curl, however, my left side was practically removed to accomplish her goal. Please let me know what you think. Happy New Year.Barbara

Happy New Year.> BarbaraTo Barbara; Sorry you had a bad expierence with your haircut, when your hair grows a little, you might try a relaxer to ease the growing out pains by getting your out of control hair in control. I have never heard of anyone trying to accent the occipital area unless they were trying to create a 'weight line' when doing a bowl or very short cut. (Not what I would expect that you were trying after growing your hair for 19 months.) Have a happy New Year! and don't worry it will grow back. I would certainly advise your friends to shy away from your first stylist.william
