Whenever it gets to shoulder length, i'll have lots of flyaway hair & hair breakage which caused me to cut my hair. is there any tips on how to reduce to prevent the hair breakage & flyaway hair?is there any way to have stronger hair & faster hair growth?
Hi Rene. There are lots of wonderful tips on how to keep your hair healthy in the tips and articles secion of the Hair Boutique page. The most important one is probably to eat healthy and be sure you are getting adequate amounts of vitamins, minerals, and protein. Your hair reflects the overall health of your body. After that it mostly comes down to how you care for your hair. One of the first things you may want to do is take a look at your regular hair care routine and see if there is anything that may be causing damage in the long term.Do you do any type of chemical treatments, like perms or colors, to your hair? Some people's hair reacts well to these treatements, and others experience noticable damage, expecially with repeated applications. It is especially important to treat chemially altered hair gently.Do you use any type of heat styling, like curling irons and blow dryers? These can be damaging as well if you don't take proper precautions. If you do use a blow dryer and wish to continue, consider stopping before the hair is completely dry. The most damage comes from over-drying which causes the hair to over-heat. Also, consider using a leave-in conditoner to add a layer of protection to the hair shaft. What types of barettes do you use? Some metal clips have sharp edges that can cut and break hair. If you use ponytail elastics try to find ones that are one continuous piece without a metal band, or better yet, use cloth scrunchies.I hope that some of these tips will help you in your efforts to grow your hair. Good luck.Teresa

Rene, I, too, am trying to grow my hair out and have tried just about everything. Right now I'm having great success with horsetail extract. I put 30-40 drops into water 3-4 times a day and have been doing so for just four or five days. Believe it or not, my hair already seems to have some growth. . .it definitely looks better and has far fewer fly-aways than normal. I'd also recommend taking some key vitamin supplements if you're unable to incorporate vitamins into your daily diet.Good luck!--HT
