Hi everyone,A couple questions on tipping:My salon offers a free bang trim between haircuts. How much should I tip for this service? The charge for the haircut itself is $50.My next question: my stylist is the owner of the salon. My mother used to say that you shouldn't tip the owner, because they keep 100% of your payment. I would feel so strange not tipping her at all. What do you guys think?Sandra

The charge for the> haircut itself is $50.At what would you estimate the value of your bang trim? If you feel that it's worth $3, then give that to your stylist. If you feel it's worth $5, then try that. Just go with what works for you. A lot of people don't tip the shampoo girls at my salon, but I do -- it's a "free" service in a sense (although you do pretty much pay for it in the price of the cut), and I usually give them $2-3.> My next question: my stylist is the owner of the> salon. I wouldn't feel in the least bit odd tipping the owner of a salon -- after all, he or she would be doing me a service, and for me not to acknowledge their expertise with a tip would make me feel like a cheapskate! :)
