dyeing my hair from red to blonde

I can tell you this - once red is in your hair (permanent or semi-perm), it is impossible to get out unless you bleach it out or cut it off. You may need to have another bleach job and leave it on longer until it gets a light yellow and then put a toner on the color you want. I had my hair dresser put in a dark ash blonde demi filler (my natural color) and then was later going to highlight my hair blonde, but the red came back, not as strong but definitely there. So I went and got heavy highlights (very light ash blonde) but there are still streaks of red though not as noticable. I'll just have to wait and grow out that old red.
