I was just wondering if you could do some of us a favor here on HAIR TALK and list the ingredients on that bottle of Viviscal for us to read and take note of..ther's a recent posting by Elizabeth who is concerned about side effects, and I was wondering about the ingredients before maybe buying it. THANKS SO MUCH!Holly
Hi, Holly! Here are the ingredients: cartiligeous seafood extract (North Pacific Marine), acerole extract (which is a cherry-like fruit, if I'm not mistaken, and an excellent source of Vitamin C), silica compounds, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, and natural black currant flavor.I have to say that I am even allergic to most types of seafood, and I haven't had any reaction to Viviscal. My boyfriend reaffirmed last night that my hair is indeed growing longer -- I actually trust his opinion in this more than mine, because I'm so impatient I may overlook progress sometimes! LOL!

Thanks! I thought that there would be a whole lot more "chemically" sounding names, but thankfully not. I appreciate you taking the time to list the ingredients..let us know how your progressing!Holly
WIll your new growth fall out once you discontinue use of this product like it does with rogaine? I saw this question posted sometime back, but I don't remember seeing an answer.

I believe there's more good to be had in the natural stuff! :)I certainly will keep the list updated on my progress. Let's hope there's a lot of it! LOL!
Dear H.Taylor,I am writing to you directly because you were kind enough to answer my question concerning Viviscal and hair weaves.Being new to this site, I have noticed you answer a lot of questions regarding hair. I'm not sure whether or not you are a hair dresser or an expert of some sort. Regardless, I would like to know what you consider the best shampoos and conditioners on the market to be? I have read a lot of good things about Artec and Aveda on the site. In your experience, what have you found to work well?Again, thank you for your initial response.I would appreciate any comments.Michelle...
Hi, Michelle! Thank you for your kind words! I'm more of a hair junkie than anything else, although I'm friends with a number of hair dressers and have spent quite a bit of time at the salon. My friends are always keeping me updated about what they think is the best in hair care, and I try to pass it on because I absolutely trust their judgment. Keep in mind that I, however, stick more to store shampoos rather than salon, simply because I'm a law student and really have to conserve my money at the moment! :) However, in the past I've used Aveda shampoos and conditioners, along with Paul Mitchell, and would recommend any of them, as would my hair stylist (he especially likes Awapuhi from Paul Mitchell). I've also heard rave reviews about Artec, but as of yet have not tried it. I absolutely love anything by Aussie, and also love the fact that they don't test on animals. I used to be a big St. Ives fan, but after a few months of using it build-up became a problem. I'm now using Aussie Mega Shampoo, which is especially designed not to build up and has really made my hair silky. For a conditioner, I use one of two Nature's Gates products: Jojoba or Rainwater, both of which are wonderful. I also use Aussie Hair Insurance, the spray/leave-in conditioner, on the ends. This tends to stop styling damage, or so it seems. I did use ThermaSilk some time ago for the same effect, but for some reason it ended up making my hair oily.I'd also recommend the Citre Shine line, which I used for some time before trying something new. . .although now I think I'll stick with Aussie for quite a while!I have to say that my hair is now in the best condition ever, and I don't know if I should attribute it to the Viviscal or Aussie Mega and the conditioners. I would never have known about the Viviscal were it not for Karen's mention of it -- thanks, Karen! -- and I've also picked up a lot of great hair tips (such as rinsing in cold water, using cool air to blow dry, and so forth). I'm absolutely thrilled that my hair is finally turning into something which I don't dread dealing with, and I'm finally past wanting to cut it off due to frustration. . .it's a miracle!I hope this has helped, and I also hope you find a hair care line that fits your needs!
