HELP!!! Question for the Experts... How do YOU do it???

I know we discuss cleaning and pampering our hair, but what about our styling tools?? What is the best home remedy for cleaning/sanitizing hairbrushes and combs? I've only used soap and hot water. How do you really clean them good? Brushes get everything caught in them. (hair, dead skin, gel, hairspray, dust) HELP!!!!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated by me and my brushes & combs. Thank you.

( Old hairdresser saying).Traditionally "Spic 'N Span" was mixed with water,in a tub,to clean the brushes and combs.After 24 hrs, or sometimes 168+ - whenever you gotaround to it - it was rinsed off and put in asolution of "Barbicide" (disinfectant).Here's what I recommend, Use anything to clean themoff, shampoo, dish soap,whatever, and then put themin a tub/pail of water , enough to submersed theitems. Add a few drops of bleach to the water andlet them soak overnight. That'll clean anddisinfect them. MHRelated Link:A Fashion Experience
