I'd like to hear feedback from anyone who uses Nature Gate's hair products. I found them in my local "healthy" supermarket today for $3.99 a bottle. Thanks!
I absolutely love NG's conditioners! In fact, I feel no need to go back to expensive conditioners again. Occasionally, I'll still use Aveda's Curessence or Phytosesame for an intense conditioning... but Nature's Gate is my daily favorite. In my bathroom, I currently have the Herbal, Chammomile, Jojoba, and Aloe conditioners and use them on a rotating basis. The Herbal Conditioner is the only one with a really strong smell, but I've grown to love it. The Chammomile is a nice, light formula for days when I don't want heavy conditioning. And the Jojoba really leaves my hair silky and tangle-free. I've been using the Aloe as a leave-in because it's supposed to block UVA/UVB rays, plus it smells really clean.I haven't tried the shampoos yet because I have quite a few other brands to use up. But, I'm really looking forward to it!Have fun with your NG products! I think they're a real find!Sincerely,Jen BahneyRelated Link:Bowers-Bahney Communications
I too have been long time Aveda fan but I was never totally satisfied with their conditioners. After reading a rave review about Aveda's brilliant line 'round October of last year I decided to try it out. Initially I really loved the product, enough to post a rave myself. BUT it didn't take long for a build up to occur and my hair felt even worse. I then tried out the Artex texture line but that didn't work for me either. Then I read a posting on this board about using NG conditioners with Aveda shampoos. I have been using the combination of Aveda's clove shampoo with NG's Jojoba conditioner for about two months now. To sum up I am very, very happy. My hair feels great now.> I absolutely love NG's conditioners! I use Nature's Gate Aloe conditioner and Jojoba conditioner once in a while. I love them!!! They are actually better than Aveda's Curessence that I tried once. The Curessence made my hair very dry and frizzy, but the NG conditioners make my hair soft and healthy. Go for it, no stopping, I'm sure you'll be satisfied, I know many people are. Its not tested on animals, smells great, and protects your hair from the sun's uv-rays.
I went out and bought a metal vent paddle brush yesterday to use for straightening my wavy long hair....IT WORKED EXCELLENTLY! No lotions, no mouse, no straightening gel. Just a little bit of hot shot/cool shot of air action! Thanks for the tip from the person who mentioned it on the message board! That saves me alot of $$ in the future on straightening gels!

Hi Tamara,I discovered another cool thing. Jeff was complaining to me that he had run out of Blue Malva shampoo. I was stunned because last time I checked he was using ARTec shampoo & conditioner. He told me that he had noticed that I was mixing and matching with great results and so he decided to mix and match with Blue Malva and ARTec Smoothing conditioner.DUH. I guess I was the last to know. :-) Anyway...he told me that when he uses the Blue Malva and the ARTec Smoothing conditioner...his hair is great. Not too soft, but still smooth and shiny. He said that the ARTec Smoothing Shampoo AND conditioner together, makes his hair a little too soft for his liking. So he uses either Blue Malva & ARTec Smoothing conditioner or ARTec Smoothing Shampoo and Aveda Cherry Almond Bark.See...it does work to mix and match.Because my own hair is normally dry, I can do the ARTec Smoothing shampoo AND conditioner and not have a problem. However, I do like to mix and match with NG Chamomile & ARTec Smoothing conditioner as well as ARTec Smoothing shampoo and Aveda Curessence.Once again...every hair is different. Thanks for the tip. :-)Karen> I too have been long time Aveda fan but I was never> totally satisfied with their conditioners. I am a big fan of NG. I have enough bottles of different varieties of it to last til 2000. I have stopped counting all the varieties I have.. but I know I must keep about 10 bottles in a basket near the shower. The only variety I do not like is the Keratin. My favorite is the Jojoba and next the Original herbal..with the Rainwater Herbal shampoo and Rosemary conditioner right behind. The Biotin is good also. I love the stuff and find it's a quality product for a reasonable cost. I have paid up to 6 bucks a bottle in some stores. Target carries some for 2.99 and I couldn't believe my eyes. I for one am very satisfied and have been using NG since last summer. It has pushed all my other products out the door.. The only thing I have found I have altered is that I water down the shampoo some because it is so rich. That way it doesn't weigh my hair down so much. I use the conditioners full strength and lots of it...with massaging some into my scalp for a great conditioning and stress release.
