I have alot of iron in my well water, which turns my blonde hair red at the roots. My hair is fine, has been color treated, and permed. Please tell me what products I can use to get my hair back into shape again.

I cannot believe iron is turning your roots red. I have a ton of iron in wellwater experience living in rural southern Minnesota. It turns hair red at the ends. maybe that is what you meant to say. If not, I would suspect your red roots are more a result of coloring your hair blond perhaps? If you want me to fill you in on my method of getting the iron out, email me and I'll send you instructions.

I have gone the entire run with iron/mineral problems. I can tell you if you have alot of iron in your water you need to stop washing your hair with it until it can be fixed. If you can you need to have a water conditioner installed and a water filtering system which the second is not expensive. We paid about 40 bucks for the filter system. The water conditioning systems usually are costly. We paid about 1300. But it has been well worth it. My husband installed a new Culligan shower filter on my shower last night to also aid in keeping any sediment off my hair. It costs about 18. I also rinse my hair each time I wash it with a jug of distilled water. If you cannot afford any of these systems I would go to a salon and let them wash my hair for me. Iron can destroy your hair, believe me! Good luck.. Cheryl
