I am looking to get a perm. My hair is in longer layers. What would be better? I like the look of spiral, but on layers, I'm not sure. Please advise.

Please advise. To Lisa,A spiral perm will give you a more of a 'corkscrew' curl than a regular 'croquinole' wrap will. This is depending on how each is wrapped and what kind of rods are used. A wrapping method that I use a lot is a 'piggyback' wrap for long hair. It will give a very even results from scalp to ends and will actually look more natural than a spiral wrapped perm. It however takes a long time to properly do, but my customers love the results. I usually use a white rod to wrap the first 6 inches of hair on and a purple rod for the remainder, using as many ros as ness to wrap the 'piggyback portion with. Tell your stylist to vary the length of the hair that you first wrap on the white rod by 1-2 inches on alternating rods and to make the partings only the width of the rod diameter, not twice as wide as is common practice. This will 'break up' the wave line where the transistion is from one rod size to another. If you have any other questions post and I will be glad to help. william
