I once came across a site that had all the different professional as well as non-professional hair colors and how to cross reference, for example, if one used loreal and now wanted to use clairol, what shade would they use....I can't seem to find it now...anyone know where to find it online?

GO TO A PROFFESSIONAL WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND YOU WOULD NOT NEED A CROSS REFERENCE I HAVE BEEN A HAIR DESIGNER AND COLORIST FOR 10YRS AND I SURE WOULD NOT TELL YOU! THATS MY BUSINESS AND MY LIVELY HOOD! ITS JUST NOT FAIR
Dear Dee,I'm also a Hairdresser ( retired), I must agree with Sara as the chemical mix from two different brands are what could ruin your hair as Hairdressing is'nt my livelyhood I'm sure Sara like myself does'nt want you to kill your hair!!. A Salon Colour Specialist will tell you what you can & can't mix if they are professional it is no huge secret & a colourist can customise a mix of your choice for you some will even sell you the tubes of colour if it turns out great & no damage( they do here in Australia but only if it is their brand), I must admit for years (20!!) most salons may from time to time mix Goldwell with L'Oreal professional ONLY products I must say that is why I spent 4 years at college to learn to become a hairdresser & another 20 practicing, all you to do is ask.Best of Luck (& zip off to a Good Salon Maybe Sara's)Simone. (C). ;)
If you all would have read Dee's letter a little more carefully, she wanted to know about cross referencing. She wasn't asking to mix the two products together, just what to use if the next time she colored her hair she wanted to change brands (right, Dee?) with a color chosen from another brand that closely resembled the other brands color. Not mixing them together! Just using a different brand, trying for the same color.Sara, it's rude to yell:))Calsie
Sorry!!!,I thought colour mixing was the topic, in future I will try to look deeper!!, of course it is ok to change from ex- Clairol to any other brand as long as you know the colour( take an old box of your fave colour to help match), many of us switch to another brand, but just make sure you don't use if you have henna in your hair, once again thanks for bringing this to my attention I must have had a case of stupidity that day!!Take Care,Simone.(C). ;)If you all would have read Dee's letter a little more> carefully, she wanted to know about cross referencing.> She wasn't asking to mix the two products together,> just what to use if the next time she colored her hair> she wanted to change brands (right, Dee?) with a color> chosen from another brand that closely resembled the> other brands color.> Not mixing them together!
