> Hi, Trey!I have seen some of your posts and have enjoyed them.I am not sure how long your hair is, so my advice re how to set may be inadequate.First, I use Aubrey Organics B-5 Design Gel and the Ginkgo and Ginseng Hair Moisturizing Jelly as my setting lotion. I mix the two together and get the benefit of both. The B-5 Design Gel is thick, but you can dilute it if you wanted to use it alone. I use the two to get a maximum hair dryer protector and a terrific set. It may take you a while to get the right mixture and the right amount for your hair, but when you do, I think you will be pleased by the results.I gave up a commercial setting lotion which I had used for several years after experimenting with these products. I found that my hair was extremely soft and shiny and breakage was less. I have found that the set holds much longer. I concentrate on framing the area around my face with some gentle curls and letting the rest hang down my back. Sometimes, to dilute the mixture further, I put some of it on my hair and then spray on Infusium 23 Original Formula Leave In Treatment. That's an awesome trick which I started doing recently. Again, you get a great hair dryer protector to avert breakage and maintain strength. The "just right hang" problem sounds familiar. That's what prompted me to look for a new setting lotion. It's a common problem and I think that over time, you just have to alternate products. Sometimes, added length to your hair does wonders for getting the right hang. I have found with additional inches my hair seems to hang much better and stays that way. It's the added weight. One thing which can really help your curl at the root is to use larger rollers. The line of curlers which runs from your forehead down to the nape of your neck should be the largest-at least that's true for me. I use smaller ones around my face and in the "kitchen area" (back of neck area where hair is usually the finest). Also, you can use less hair on larger rollers to stretch out the curl. Are you familiar with the plastic pins, not the traditional "metal hair clips", which you can use to literally lock your set? I use these. You can get them at a beauty supply shop. They are actually quite gentle and cause less breakage than the metal ones.I hope this helps. Take care of yourself and continue to post. All the Best,Jade21I wash and set my hair and in the begining my hair was> doing> wonderful you could tell the improvement right away.
