Has anyone ever tried hair products from the Body Shop? I saw an intensive conditioner there that looked like it would be really good (had brazil nut oil, panthenol and jojoba) but I wanted to get some opinions first.
Roberta -I have tried a number of products from the body shop, including the brazil nut shampoo/conditioner, grapefruit shampoo, protein conditioner and banana shampoo/conditioner as well as the tangerine beer shampoo. i found the brazil nut products entirely too heavy for my hair type making my hair limp, it also felt like my hair was "coated" with a waxy buildup. i found the grapefruit drying. i still occassionally use the banana products - mostly for the smell :).in my opinion the products are not worth the money and you would be better off with the aveda or artec products (which are about the same price) or even the less expensive drug store brands....good luck with your search.jj
>Hi, Roberta!I agree 100% with JJ.I have never used the hair products and thankfully did not waste my own money on some of the butters which they offer.I was very curious about the moisturizing butters for the skin and checked out the ingredients and asked the salesperson why shea butter was not one of the first ingredients rather than some of the junk. He didn't even know what shea butter was and how luscious it was for hair and skin. Shea butter can be extremely costly, but lasts forever and is heavenly for moisturizing hair and skin. You would do much better by moisturizing your hair with jojoba oil and using a shampoo or conditioner with it. Have you ever tried Aubrey Organics Jojoba and Aloe Hair Reconstructing and Conditioner? It is extremely rich and will give your hair intense moisture without weighing it down if it is extremely dry. I used the product for about four to five months a while ago and found it to be excellent. It is about $13.00 retail for 4oz, but should last a long time. A little goes a long way! YOu can purchase the product at the Vitamin Shoppe, www.vitaminshoppe.com, at a 20-40% discount depending on the sale which they have going. You might also try Aubrey Organics J.A.Y. (jojoba, aloe, yucca) shampoo. It is very rich, repairs damage and keeps hair extremely well maintained. I use it constantly:) The HOneysuckle Rose, Blue Chamomile, Island Butter are also rich, gentle and repairing shampoos. The first and last of these are great for hair which tends to be a bit dry.Happy Conditioning!Jade21Has anyone ever tried hair products from the Body> Shop?
