HELP! I am entering 9th grade in August. I have had straight brown hair (with a little itsy bitsy wave) all my life. I wear it a little longer than my shoulders, layered. It's sooooo boring. I want a change that looks cute and stylish. I was thinking about getting a spiral perm. I love the way they look on others. How do you think it will look on me?? I don't want to take tooo big a risk of my hair turning to hell because i will be entering high school soon. I need your advice.Also....is there anyway I can try a perm for a day???Thanx a bunch!Stacey!

How funny, exept for the entering into high shcool i am going through the same exact problem with my hair :) has anyone responded to your problem??one thing i do know is that if your hair is not long enough your spiral could turn up to look like a frizz ball if your hair is short, and im sure you wouldn't want that. My friend had long naturally spiral hair and one day she cut it to about shoulder length and she hated it forever, until it grew out. If i were you i would wait until my hair was like to about elbow lenth before i spiral permed it.

You could ask your stylist to put a few spiral rods in your hair say on the side or bottom. With your hair just being wet no chemicals and dry it under the dryer. This would give you some idea of the look that a spiral gives you. (I doub very highly that your stlist would rap the whole head bacause its very time consuming.)I used to do this older woman and she could not deside if a perm was the way to go. (she had very short hair.) so one day we deside to roll her perm like a roller set (no chemicals). And since see only wased it once a week and just picked it out it worked perfect for her. And she became a long time customer. Also be aware of the price of spiral perms ask before your stylist starts rolling. They can be very expensive! Also to make sure you have lots of time they can take hrs to finish.Spiral perms can be very beautiful. I hope your turns out that way good luck,Diane K.
