Is it possible to highlight hair that's already colored? I have some color on my hair already (dark brown, profesionally done) and am wondering if i can add lighter brown/gold highlights to it. will this not work at all, with the other color already there? thanks for any advice.

Many people have it, but I would definitely go to a hairdresser: not attempt it yourself.

My hair is colored to a dark blondish-brown color from red. (orangish) I have put blonde streaks in my colored hair, and have highlighted it somewhat, also. Sure, it's possible, but make sure you go to a professional hairstylist to make sure that it comes out right the first time. (and to make sure it doesn't mess up your color, too!)

Many people have> it, but I would definitely go to a hairdresser: not> attempt it yourself.I agree with Heather and Chrissie.Colored hair does not lift up the same as the regrowth.Only a professional knows how to apply the lightener so that it comes up evenly root to end and has access to the appropriate toner if it doesn't.
