Hello all, I am a newbie to this site, and I LOVE it :-)I am writing in regards to my dry, fuzzy hair. I haave red hair, and had a spiral perm done, and I did not like how tight it was, I then had a perm solution combed through it to straighten it a bit. Now it is so dry and fuzzy, even if I let it air dry, blow dry it, comb it with a comb, use mouse, gel, whatever I do does not seem to work. Just to make it through the day, I use big rollers to smooth it out a bit, then pull it up. I want my long, Straight, smooth textured hair back again. I cannot afford all those pricey products, are there any home remedies to my problem I could try. Help!!!!!!! Please :-)
Hi,Welcome to Hair Boutique. It sounds to me that the perm chemicals may have dried out your hair cuticle. If you want an easy and quick conditioner, try heating some olive oil until it is warm to the touch, apply to your hair where it is driest and most damaged, wrap your head up in a plastic shower cap or plastic food wrap. Cover with a warm towel and let sit on your hair for at least 1 hour.Shampoo out with a mild shampoo, condition and let your hair air dry. This should add back a lot of softness to your hair.Any type of chemicals can dry out the hair shaft and a good way to get your hair back is to do a hot oil conditioning.Best wishes,Karen> Hello all, I am a newbie to this site, and I LOVE it> :-)> I am writing in regards to my dry, fuzzy hair. Just a few more questions. :-) Sorry.Do I apply the oil when my hair is wet or dry? Should I comb it through after I have applied it? How many applications do I need before seeing results? Would cutting my hair be better for improving the condition of my hair, or will the oils bring it back to its wonderful original condition?(I grew it for so long, I would die if I had to, but I would)I am from Canada, and am just wondering what hair product I could purchase in a hair salon if I were to buy one that would help my hair. I will try the olive oil and then maybe I will look into purchasing something from a salon if I need more.I appreciate any comments or suggestions! Thanks so very muchLynn
