Hi,

Can you tell us more about your hair type and what brand/type of shampoo and conditioner you are using?
Please let us know if you have thin hair, oily hair, anything that you can.

I`ll try to help.

I feel your pain! My hair is the same way. I condition mine all the time and also use leave in conditioners just to get a comb through it. Each time I feel I`m damaging my hair just by brushing it. I`ve tryed diffrent shampoos and conditioners. The best I found was VO5 hot oil. I put it on in the shower with one of those plastic things on my head. After I`m all finished in the shower I rinse it out. I make sure it`s all off my scalp but leave just a little in it for the ends of my hair which needs it beacuse it makes it a lot easier to brush my hair. Hope I helped you.

You don`t literally use a hairbrush on wet hair, do you? If so, please stop, because you run an excellent risk of ruining your hair! Wet hair is far more fragile than dry hair, and a brush can tear hair and cause split ends.

Is your hair free of tangles before you get it wet? It should be.

What kind of shampoo do you use? I found out once when I used a shampoo meant for oily hair, it made my hair much more "tangly" than before.

How long do you leave your conditioner in your hair while it`s wet? Do you gently comb it with a wide-toothed comb in the shower while the conditioner is still in? I wear very long extensions, and it anything can get tangled, my hair can! But when it`s free of tangles before I wash it and then when I gently comb it with the conditioner in, there are virtually no tangles afterwards.

Also, do you pat your hair dry, or do you rub it dry with a towel? Rubbing it is not recommended at all, because not only does it produce tangles, but the "scales" of the hair rub against one another and tear away at the cuticle, making it weaker and more likely to tangle.

Try this...
Before you get into the shower, brush your hair so there are no tangles or anything. While washing your scalp, try not to move your hair alot, and when conditoning do the same. I usually leave any of my condtioners on for 2-3 min. When you are done, dont flip your hair upside down and dry it, just leave your head upright and sueeze the water out with a towel. Then if you want put it up in a turbine lol...like I do. Leave the towel in till you are done getting ready(if you have to go to shool or work and dont have time to let it air dry), and then brush your hair. A leave in conditoner should help. Also, when you are brushing it, split the hair in half, and brush the ends out, and go up gradually, then switch to the other side. This method has helped me alot, sorry this is so long!!
