Hi! I'm thinking about using a semi-permanent hair color such as Clairol Natural Instincts to brighten up my color w/ some red highlights. My hair is fairly short and quite healthy at the moment, but I'm trying to grow it out to midback length. Will this stuff fry my hair as it gets longer, or is it relatively harmless?Dawn

HI! I had a too-light highlight episode in February, which I documented on this board. I used Natural instincts to tone it down, according to advice received from their Color Hotline. Since that time, I have used Natural Instincts four times (the last time being yesterday am). I am VERY PLEASED with my results, and my hair is in great condition (even according to my stylist). It is very soft and not damaged. I am growing out my hair as well. It is shoulder length now. E-mail me privately and I can tell you more, if you wish...HTH.Laura
