Hi everyone again!! First of all I want to thank Jade and especially Dave who's article helped me a lot and who's advice turned out to be usefull!! Thanks!! I wanted to ask a couple of questions...I bought a shampoo at the herbal shop which contains Soja and another herb that I don't know the name in English, since the bottle's all in Italian (I live in Italy by the way), but it cuold be miller, i don't know, anyway...this shampoo is supposed to be a stimulant to avoid excessive hair loss and to clean the scalp of all the scores and debris that might cause hair loss, something I've heard conventional market shampoos don't do...I wanted to ask how efficient is this shampoo and is it really good for your hair? Secondly...are there any ways, without having to buy pills and pastiles that cost millions and are probably bad for your health, to speed up hair growth?! Thirdly...I seem to have discussions with my mother often on this point so i would appreciate some clearing up...the conditioner, should applied only at the tips and mid-lengths of the hair, or on the crown and scalp aswell?!Thanks again to everyone and keep up the great great work!!Diego.

Welcome Back, Diego!Glad to see you returned and that I could help you a bit.Anyway, my Italian is poor:), but I wonder if the "Soja" could be soy protein. The other word I cannot help with. You did not indicate what type of hair you have. Is it dry, normal, oily? Regardless, I might recommend a jojoba oil based shampoo to you. Jojoba naturally regulates the sebum on your scalp. If your hair is dry or oily, the stuff attempts to regulate it to "normal." If your hair is "normal," it keeps the flow going:) For shampoos, in my opinion, you want a product which is gentle, cleansing, but not stripping in any way. I prefer to use a castile-based shampoo rather than the sodium lauryl sulfate in most commercial products. It is a much gentler sudsing agent. For conditioners, the argument with your mother might be resolved this way. If your hair tends to get dry, I think it is important to put some on your scalp. My hair has a tendency to get dry and I always use a bit there. However, the bulk of a conditioner for me is focused on the ends of my hair. If your hair is oily, focus on non-scalp area.I think I remember you saying that you brushed after drying your hair because you looked akin to a scarecrow. With a good conditioner, you should not look that way.Encouraging growth with vitamins and other supplements is possible. I will leave that to your discretion re e-mailing me. You might also massage your scalp.Bye for now,Jade21Hi everyone again!! Regarding speeding up hair growth....I use Kal Hairforce (all natural hair vitamins) I get them from health food stores, GNC etc. about $17.95 a month's supply. They are especially good at keeping the hair that is growing in strong and shiny (silica is the key ingredient and also good for nails. Only drawback...it does not discriminate...one sisterfriend had to stop using them because it increased the facial hairgrowth as well; and I have noticed I shave my underarms and legs more. My hairstylist gave me this tip after I had experienced breakage due to braids and diet bills....
