I have ash blonde hair which will blonde out very nicely IF I'm in the sun a great deal. The sun doesn't seem to take its toll on my FRAGILE FINE hair nearly as much as professional highlighting does. My hairdresser says that the sun is worse for my hair and is trying to get me to highlight, but I have had horrible dryness and breakage caused by hightlighting! I LOVE my hair blonde and I'm wondering what the "experts" think of natural highlighting versus professional highlighting....is there any such thing as VERY GENTLE highlighting other than the sun???Thanks to all who have an opinion!!!CG

CG,I'm certainly no "EXPERT" but it sounds to me like you know what is best for your hair already. If you have had past good experiences using the sun for highlights while the chemical process has harmed your hair, listen to intuition rather than a stylist who has a financial interest in you choosing one method over another. Just remember to wear sunscreen on you skin - we KNOW that will damage, and it can be deadly!
