Hi Jade,I am trying desparately too repair my hair that I have nearly killed from over coloring (and still haven't reached the perfect color). I've tried GPB and love it but I don't know which shampoo to get. My hair is straight in front, wavy in back, very very dry with split ends and breakage but also fine so I don't want anything that will weigh it down. Any suggestions?

Any suggestions?Sounds like you need to strengthen your hair. Try Nature's Gate Keratin and panthenol shampoo and conditioner. They have a lot of natural ingredients and amino-acids(essential for healthy hair). You can find these at health food stores. Take a multi-vitamin, amino-acid tablet and a biotin tablet every day, also. Those together work wonders for the hair. Get regular trims on the ends, this will enable the hair to grow. Deep condition your hair the day before you get a color. This will prepare your hair for the color. Plus, use a leave-in conditioner after you shampoo to keep the moisture in you hair and to keep it soft. If you can't find Nature's Gate try Infusium 23 products. These work well for damaged hair. My friend had damaged hair, she never had trims, she rarely washed her hair and it was a mess, and she used Infusium 23 and her hair is in better condition. Another tip, only shampoo the scalp because shampooing the rest of the hair will dry it. Only condition the ends because the ends are the only part that need conditioning. Keep me informed on your progress.Related Link:SLS vs. SLES

None of their shampoos or conditioners are strong enough for my hair. I do take a multi-vitamin and biotin but what kind of amino acid tablets are you talking about?

Hi, Roberta! You are working hard to improve you hair's condition and I will be glad to make some suggestions re Aubrey's shampoos.Your hair is quite dry, but fine. I do remember:) I suggest for all of these get the "try-me-out" size from the company directly. That way you won't waste money if you do not like:)1)Chamomile Luxurious Herbal Shampoo. This is extremely gentle and moisturizing and won't weigh down your hair. I don't know what color your hair is but it does bring out natural highlights in your hair. Mine is dark and it brings out some red highlights, but nothing excessively so.2)Swimmers Shampoo. I tried this recently and give an A+ to it. Melanie suggested this as an extremely gentle, moisturizing, effective shampoo. I think this would work well on your hair.3)J.A.Y. Shampoo. You've heard me say this is my tried and true shampoo. I have been using it sparingly because the new formula (corn oil soap for castille), I find it a bit drying strangely enough.Other shampoos which would be great for dryness include the White Camelia and Jasmine, Honeysuckle Rose (terrific!) and the Blue Chamomile (Heaven in a bottle!). HOWEVER, my fear is that these would weigh your fine hair down.Roberta, have you tried the Blue Green Algae Hair Mask? It's the pre-shampoo conditioning treatment recommended for the dry crackles. If you haven't, think about trying this product. I think it might help rather quickly with the breakage and dryness. It will also restore some of the life which the overprocessing has taken away. Just a suggestion:)Also, are u trimming off some of the dead ends? You know they have to go:)Take care and let me know how you're doing.Bye for now,Jade21> I am trying desparately too repair my hair that I have> nearly killed from over coloring (and still haven't> reached the perfect color). I just ordered trial sizes of the Camomile Herbal shampoo, swimmers shampoo, white Camellia & Jasmine and Honeysuckle Rose shampoo. I ordered the blue algae mask from the vitamin shoppe because it was so much cheaper. I already had bought the J.A.Y. shampoo but am leary now that you said it dried your hair out. I'll let you know how the others turn out.
