Natural Curly Hair

I need some really good advise. I have tried anything and everything to make my hair look good. I have naturally curly hair and I have tried mousses, gels, etc. to keep my natural curl, but nothing really works. My hair is either too hard or it gets really frizzy if I don't put enough mousse or gel. What do I do? Right now I have TEXTURE CONTROL GEL in my hair and it is halfway hard and halfway soft. ARTec Control GelKeep in mind that even very firm hold gels can be 'softened' by adding a rich leave-in conditioner to it.
