I AM THINKING OF TRYING A SHORT HAIRSTYLE FOR A WHILE BUT I HAVE HEARD THAT CUTTING IT OFF WOULD MAKE IT THIN AND NEVER BE THE SAME IF I LET IT GROW AGAIN.DOES SOMEONE KNOW IF THIS IS TRUE OR NOT?

your hair's texture is based on your genes (some people have thin or fine, some people have thick or coarse) and well as your diet, including any vitamins or supplements you take.Cutting your hair absolutely does NOT affect your hair's natural texture. Nevertheless, you can purposely get a cut to thin out the hair: you can ask your hair stylist to cut your hair in such a way that the cutting technique will make your hair appear less thick.but, no, a hair cut will not alter the natural thickness/thinness of your hair.

Actually, short hair styles make hair look fuller. The only thing that will make your hair change texture is what ever goes on inside your body, not by cutting your hair. Go For it!
