I got my hair dyed about a month ago. Since then, my hair has been unbearable. The stylist at the salon insured me that it would not damage my hair. I have the worst fly-aways and nothing I have tried such as leave-in conditioner and "Friz-ez", has worked. Please help.

Run...don't walk...to the virgin olive oil and do a hot oil conditioner. How to do it?Get extra virgin, high quality olive oil (not rancid please) and then heat until warm...not hot...to the touch. Then apply to the middle and ends of your hair. Do not apply near the scalp since this will leave an oily deposit on your scalp and roots.Put on a plastic shower cap and then wrap your head in a hot towel (hot from the clothes dryer). You can also sit under a hood style hairdryer. If you don't have access to either the towel or the hood dryer, a regular towel is better than just the shower cap.The key is to get heat into the process to open and hair cuticle and allow the oil to remoisturize the dry cuticle.OK. Then leave this mess on for 1 hour minimum. I have been known to wander around with my hair wrapped in towels for hours and hours. It is messy...but worth it.Then shampoo with a moisturizing shampoo and a rinse out conditioner.Do a cold water rinse (to seal in all the new oil goodies) and let your hair air dry.Do this until you feel your hair return to a softer condition. For a quick fix....ARTec Moisture Pak...it is awesome and I have been using it for some time with great results.Best wishes,Karen> I got my hair dyed about a month ago. That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger or drives you totally insane. :-)

Please help.Depending upon the hair texture that you have, coloring your hair can do that sometimes. It doesnt necessarily damaged your hair, but putting color on it swells your cuticle or hair shaft. I see it happen alot with people that have naturaly curly hair. What i recommend for my customers is a gel that temporarily straighten your hair. Its heat activated. There are many good one, but buy one at the salon you go to. your stylist can recommend the right one for you. If you buy it in a salon the products are usually garanteed. I dont have curly hair, but i use one because i have a weird flip on one side and it fixes it and at the same time the product gives me body and extra shine. I use Joicos Straight.
