i tried to dye my hair blonde, but it turned red

i have light brown hair, naturally, and i tried to dye it medium blonde with L'Oreal feria cashmere blonde, and it turned a light red/orange color. Is there any typr of toner that i can put on it that won't damage my hair, but will take out some of the red and make it more blonde? Also, what is the best hair color stripping product to use if i decide to do that instead? Thanks for the help, i really apperciate it!
