QuoteReplyTopic: Height on top Posted: January 12 2000 at 5:33am
I have very healthy and shiny straight shoulder length hair, no bangs. It has body, except on top where I need some height. I have tried teasing and then spraying on top but it doesn't seem to stay. I live in a dry climate.Does anyone have any suggestions? I really don't want to resort to a perm for height on top.
it can help tremendously if, when you blow dry, work your hair from the *root* to create lift. for example, after washing, apply your usualy styling lotion. with damp hair, dry your hair in sections, saving the top area where you want the height, for last. When you get to this section (and this will work to some degree for any area of your hair that you're drying), use an appropriate styling brush to grab the hair at the root, and lift the hair up, drying upward. this should give you increased volume.it may take you a few tries to master this technique, but I think you'll get the hang of it. :). silvie
