I have a bit of natural wave to my hair that is currently about 3 inches passed my shoulders, and it is layered shorter on top and gradually longer on the sides and back. Can anyone recommend hair products and hair styling methods that I can use to accentuate the waves and sort of make my hair look like its been permed without actually getting a perm? Thanks for any tips!

Here's what I do:First off, I got a perm 2 months ago and my hair was fried. So perms are out for me, I don't even want to deal with them anymore. Layered hair, like mine, works best with the methods I use:1) Set wet hair in rollers overnight until dry. If your hair has a natural wave like mine, take the rollers out and your hair will be curly. You can spritz water on to make the curls loser and blow dry.2) Set in heated rollers. They make your hair soft and don't take as long as the wet hair method.3) I saw a product at Wal-Mart called 'Perm for a Day. I have never tried it myself, but I hope someone on here has. For a temporary perm try this product and see what yout think.Hope this helps!*Allyson*

Hi! I have naturally straight as a board hair, and I have tried perm for a day in the past. It works well, but is very similar to your wet hair in rollers method. One word of caution: Don't leave your hair in the rollers for too long, because your hair will get so curly, it can be unmanageable.

It's called just that, Perm for a Day. I looked for it the other day at Wal-Mart but I couldn't find it either. I suggest calling around some retail stores like Wal-Mart until you find it, or try Sally's.
