I have short, thick, wavy brown hair which I've been wearing short for several years. I've decided to let it grow for a while, maybe to shoulder-length. Well, now it's in this awkward "in-between" stage where chunks are sticking out and cowlicks are becoming more obvious. I've tried various mousses, gels, etc. but unfortunately can't seem to do much better than the "Moe haircut" look. Any styling suggestions till it gets long enough to work with? (Should I just buy a hat?) :-)
HiI would see this as the perfect opportunity to try some of the many, many cute hair pins and acessories that are available right now.I've seen every variety and color of rhinestone/gem clips and pins, which are a wonderful accessory and work well to hold back those pieces that stick out. Another option are the bra-strap style hair bands--very narrow, but equally effective in taming back wavy hair. One styling product that is absolutely unparalleled (to me :)) in controlling pieces of unruly hair is Aveda's Self control stick. It works well to hold bangs in place, as well as control cowlicks.good luck :) silvie

> Hi Silvie!!! Thanks for all of your previous advice. I have a question for you regarding the Aveda Self Control Stick, etc. Are there any other brands that make something similar? I have a very hard time finding Aveda products. Thanks!!! Also, do you know of a good product for straightening hair? I currently use Redken Straight, but am willing to try others as well.
hi everyone. i have very thick, soft highlighted blonde hair. it is naturally curly, and i usually wear it curly, but i have had it cut in a short choppy bob for awhile now, but i want to grow it out. my hair is still in quiet good condition, but the top layers are slightly fragile and could use some strengthening. does anyone know of a product/s that strength yet moisturize? any info would be appreciated. thanks!
