Hi :)What can I say? I really LOVE coming here, reading all the messages, posting (Can't you tell? LOL!), and meeting everyone here. I've only been coming here for a short period of time and already have recieved a lot of great advice. Best of all, everyone here is very friendly and always willing to help others. Thanks, everyone!!Want to hear a funny hair story? One summer when I was in college I made the mistake of dumping two bottles of "Sun-In" on my hair. I loved the results. It made my hair a very nice reddish brown color. But then when I returned to college that fall, I really wanted a perm and boy, did it damage my hair! My hair became this really strange reddish orange color and my normally ultra thick hair was about six times bigger than my head! LOL! Some people in my dorm nicknamed me after the singer Chaka Kahn and I'm not African American (I'm of Irish descent on both sides). I couldn't wait for that perm to grow out! LOL! Since then, which was Fall '85 I haven't gone back for any more perms. No way!!Know what the sad part is? I wanted a perm so bad back then because I was born with naturally curly hair but when I was five years old and my naturally curly hair was down to my derriere, I accompanied my four year old brother and Dad to Johnny the Barber. For some reason, seeing my little brother get his hair cut I wanted mine cut too. My Dad agreed without consulting my Mom. Utoh right? LOL! My Mom and Nana (Maternal Grandmother) were so upset that they just jumped in their cars and drove around for an hour. Because since that haircut my hair has been mostly straight with a natural wave here and there, my Nana spent most of my childhood and teen years trying to coax my hair to be curly again. Whenever I visited her after school, she would always try pin curling my hair, bringing me for perms, and trying out new shampoos. She used to even give me shampoos for my birthday. LOL!Thought I'd share that story with you.*Hugs to everyone*Maria :)Related Link:Maria In Mass
