Why is it that traditional barbers in barber shops seem to think that the only purpose of a haircut is functional? I want my hair shorter, yes, but I also want to to look good. Any advice for getting a haircut that looks good too?Hank

Hi, Hank!I think just the fact that you used the term "traditional" you sort of answered your own question.I think if you are looking for something other than a functional cut, you might approach a barber who is also a licensed stylist. At the same time, you might be able to speak with a barber and discuss your needs. The most important thing is you must voice your desires. That way, you should be able to decide whether the person is actually right for you.I have my hair evened and my own end trimming verified by what you call a "traditional barber." I actually feel much safer going to him than any stylist. But, he does lots of talking to his clients and has an overall interest in the condition of his clients' hair.Bye for now,Jade>Why is it that traditional barbers in barber shops> seem to think that the only purpose of a haircut is> functional?
