Help, I am looking for suggestions on what kind of hair style would work for me. I am in my mid thirties, 5ft tall and about 20 pds over weight. I am a fair skinned natural light blond, with a round face. But I have this horrible extra chin that my grandmother and mother were so kind to pass on to me. I currently have all one length hair (just below my sholders)with just a few bangs, and I usually where it in a ponytail most everyday. I also have no perm at this time, but usually do. I am a very busy person, so I need a hair style that is fairly quick to take care of. I would appreciate any suggestions that would help me hide this extra baggage under my face. What kind of cut should I get(other than plastic surgery)? lol

I know, it is much easier said than done. I had that double chin too, and was about 15 lbs overweight. I lost 10 pounds, and that double chin is 90% gone. I can't believe it! Heck, that 10 pounds made a dramatic difference on my face. My cheeks were getting larger and rounder as well. That 10 pounds off helped me more than any haircut. How did I lose the weight? Quit all soft drinks, drank lots of water each day, and limited myself to about 1200 calories a day, mostly eating fish, veggies and fruits, whole grains, chicken, etc. no snacks unless they were in one of the food groups that are necessary for good health.

I'm 26 years old and have a slight double chin which makes no sense because I'm 5'3" and weigh 118. But my mom who is in her forties had the same problem. she went to a weight clinic and dropped 10 pounds but still had the chin...inherited also. she started doing neck exercises and just about lost the whole thing. you just touch your chin to your chest and bring it the whole way up. repeat. I haven't started yet but trust. My mom looks like she had plastic surgery it really works. i have shoulder length hair that is feathered toward my face and that seems to help. good luck

hii suggest you consider a cut that lets your hair falls past your chin length by maybe 3-4 inches--a long bob, essentially. depending on the texture of you hair--if itis not too thin--you may also want to get some fine layers around your face. this will flatter your face, while not emphasizing your chin area. if your hair is too fine, the layers are not the best option, because they can be hard to manage.I do think, however, that the other suggestions given her are very good ones. Weight loss will give you the freedom to choose different hairstyles. Exercising--whether specific to the chin or for general health and weight loss will make you feel great. Then you wont need to worry about camouflaging any part of your face or body. you'll be too beautiful for that.:) silvie

Maybe-Hopeless NO!!!!!Think about a long bob cut that is about collar length in back and angles to curve very smoothly and graduated from just under the chin to about your top button with a off center part and long enough to curve almost to the center of your neck in front. The center/off center part and the curved shape in front will flow across your cheek bones and curve under your chin, hiding your double chin and giving the illusion of lengthening your face. Leave the bangs very thin and even have them purposely cut and texturized into a uneven fringe probably no longer than mid forehead at the longest in the middle and slightly longer on the side, still uneven which will help make your face seem not so round, (more oval by the framing of the eyes with the hair.) Try using a lip liner pencil or eyeliner pencil in a very thin darker color to define and make your eyes seem larger with very soft natural soft tones for makeup in general. The trick is to draw the attention upward to the eyes and not to the chin area, Classy, subtle, refreshing.. not cheap and gaudy like a $2.00 hooker. Hope this helps, please post and let me know!william
