Well just when my hair was in peak condition I had some plum highlights put in & instead of 10vol the bottles got mixed up & 30vol was used!!, the bleach was in 10 minutes & my hair got hot so it was rinsed & shampooed out asap, I've tried all my Nexxus & Sebastian stuff as well as olive oil but the cuticle feels so rough, at least it has not split- yet. Any advice Please :)Simone. (C)

Try using heat with your conditioners. Put conditioner (or olive oil) in your hair and then cover it with a shower cap. Then (a)use a blow dryer to warm your hair, (b) wrap a hot towel around your hair, or (c) get a heating cap (aka a "cholesterol cap") to use on it. Leave heat on your hair for at least 10 minutes, but up to an hour if possible. This should help the conditioners pentrate much better. By the way, Nexxus Humectress is an excellent conditioner to do this with, as is Joico K-Pac. Try alternating between moisturizing conditioners (like the Nexxus) and reconstructing conditioners (like the Joico). If expense is a problem, you can get generic versions of both of these products for about $4 each at Sally Beauty Supply. The heating cap can also be purchased there for about $21. You could also put olive oil in your hair and leave it overnight (sleep with a showercap on, or braid it) -- this does wonders for my hair.Let me know if any of this helps!> Well just when my hair was in peak condition I had> some plum highlights put in & instead of 10vol the> bottles got mixed up & 30vol was used!!, the> bleach was in 10 minutes & my hair got hot so it> was rinsed & shampooed out asap, I've tried all my> Nexxus & Sebastian stuff as well as olive oil but> the cuticle feels so rough, at least it has not split-> yet.
