Hi,I have a question about the length of time to leave on a color conditioner. I just purchased ARTec's shampoo and conditioner in "mahogany." Now, I have 20/20 vision, but I can't read the print on the back of the conditioner--it's that small! How long should I leave it on to get the maximim coloring benefit? Thanks!
Hi Jodi-depending on the condition of your hair (natural, un colored, vs. colored or damaged) and the color effect you desire you'll want to leave the conditioner on for less or more time.because this is a temporary color, you wont be damaging your hair leaving the color on even 30 minutes, if you want to. But if your hair is damaged or colored (i.e., more porous), you should be able to leave it on for less time, because your hair will "take" the color more readily. In this case, leave the color on 5 - 15 minutes, depending on the intensity you desire.color conditioners are not created equally (I have used Aveda, and just ordered but have not yet tried ARTec), so you will likely need to experiment a few times to get the timing aspect just right. Finally, keep in mind that if you grow tired of, or simply don't like the color--quit using the conditioner. Use a clarifying shampoo for several days, and the color should wash away.:) silvie
