I heard recently that olive oil is supposedly good for your hair if you pour it in and lather, and rinse out just before you shampoo. Its supposed to do the same thing that hot oil treatments do. Is this true or just a bunch of bologna?
Olive oil is supposed to be a good oil treatment. I think jojoba is supposed to be better but I think each person's hair reacts differently to different products. If I were you I would heat the olive oil before applying it, then let it soak in for a while, I think at least 20 minutes or longer if you have time. Just have a cup of tea or diet coke or whatever you like and go watch a movie or even come here for inspiration! Then go shampoo your hair. I am sure it will take 2 shampooings. I like to use 2 different shampoos when I lather up 2 times. Then do your regular rinse out conditioner and leave in at least 5 minutes. I think it's worth giving it a try. Beside you can always cook with the olive oil!Carolyn B
> Thanks so much!!! I think I'll try it tonight!I am a professional cosmetologist and I would say DO NOT PUT OLIVE OIL ON YOUR HAIR!!!!!!!!It will clog your hair pores and stop your natural oils from coming out. A clarifier is to remove things from the hair to make the scalp healthier. How can you do this by dumping olive oil on your hair? any more questions maryjane@leaco.net.Michelle Truog
