I am trying to grow my hair back out long. My hair grows unusually fast, so this is a plus. Ive wore my hair short the past couple of years, and i have had bleached blonde highlights put in. Since i am trying to grow my hair out, i decided to return to my natural color. I love the color, it is very flattering (a dark honey blonde) but now the length is driving me crazy! it is a choppy, short bob. It is almost to my chin on the sides, but with some shorter layers onto. it drives my crazy! i am also growing out my bang, which arent too bad, but with the shorter layers, it complicates things. my hair is naturally curly, but i pull some of my hair back when it is wet (which helps straighten it) so some of it is wavy, some of it straight, some of it flips out.. you get the picture.. *S* i know i can wear my headbands or cute little clips, but thats getting old.. i could blowdry my hair straight, but i stopped using the blowdryer... doesnt matter anyway my hair curls up 2 seconds later anyway.. but its too awkward to wear curly.. i know this is a LONG post but can anyone help me find a way to wear my hair while i grow it out --i've decided not to color it anymore or cut it.. i want long natural hair :)sorry for the long post!

You described my hair exactly.
Yikes! That's me, too! A short layered hairstyle, which I regretted almost immediately, growing out, bangs just at nose level covering my eyes, cowlicks all over, wavy stuff and curls and straight, nothing blending together very well. Looks as bad as it sounds ! I wash it, put a little light gel in it and fluff it, then let it air dry or use a diffuser on low. I find that the less I touch it, the better, fussing with it just seems to make it frizz. If it looks really bad, I use a couple of tiny clips or combs to just get it out of my face. Try pulling it back smoothly on the sides with combs or barrettes and let the back go fluffy and curly. I also like to visit one of the long hair sites on the web and get a dose of motivation to keep out of the salon until this mess grows out to a manageable length! I find that a confident attitude goes a long way toward not calling attention to the mess on my head...don't whine about it or bring up the subject with your friends, just keep smiling and act like it looks like a million bucks! Hang in there, it's got to get better, right? We're in this together!p.s. I bought a funky hat to use as a last resort! Hehe!
