Hey all-I notice that when I color my hair (which I have stopped doing) it's always healthy, shiney and managable. I have never, EVER used a conditioner that has left my hair like that. Do the ingredients of the hair color conditioer alone show up in any commercial conditioners? I want to get my hair like that all the time.

HiWhen you color your hair, you open up the hair shaft--a process which gives your hair more body, especially immediately after the color process. Hair that has color in it can actually be in better condition than hair without vcolor, because you are filling in the hair with new color, and coating the hair. (this is assuming the color is not harsh and you are not doing a lot of bleaching). For example, Redken Shades EQ isa color conditioning gloss that really leaves the hair in better condition--shinier and glossier--after coloring. This really has little if anything to do with the conditioners included with many coloring kits. It's the color process itself that you are likely benefitting from. Maybe you will want to reconsider coloring your hair, sticking to gentle coloring agents that will make your hair healthier.:) silvie
