Hi!I would like to lighten up my blonde curls (they're a honey-to-ash blonde), but I do not want to go with highlights or a salon coloring - my hair still needs to recover from some damage. What else can I do besides color it, which means I would be damaging the hair more. Is there shampoos and conditioners that do this .. maybe a homespun remedy?
Brit-some advocate using chamomile as a rinse. this does not lighten the hair, but accentuates blonde highlights.Make a concentrated solution of chamomile (using several tea bags) in about 2 cups of hot water. Let it cool to room temp. Apply it to dry hair and leave it in about 20 -30 minutes. Rinse. don't expect a dramatoic difference, but the chamomile should brighten your blonde.a less homespun but perhaps more effective solution is to try color shampoos and especially color conditioners. a good color conditioner (aveda, artec) will give you a nice deposit of temporary color (again, no lift or lightening, but also no damage).:) silvie
