Well, the title of this message pretty much describes my hair! It is naturally thick, wavy and frizzy, not a good combination. I want to try and get it straight, which is possible with straightening tongs, but the damage the heat does to it isn't worth it. I don't want any product recommendations, firstly because I'm in the UK and lots of this stuff is hard to find, and secondly because I don't use anything containing any animal products, which most styling stuff does.Does anybody have any styling tips? I was told to dry it with cold air but its quite long so it just flies around and frizzes itself up even more! What to do?

My hair is thick and wavy, but it only frizzes in the back. Mine's shoulder length. Whenever I go to the hairdresser, I have no frizz, partly because of the shampoo and mostly because she blow dries it straight. However, I hate that because I'm afraid of damage too. I air dry it and it still frizzes. Right now I've decided to get it cut and see if a shorter 'do will help. Good Luck finding a solution because I'd like one too.

The only way I've been able to achieve that look is to blow dry and then use a straightening iron. I despise the damage it causes to my hair as well. The only solution I've been able to come up with is to put a straightener in my hair because humidity just reverses any blow drying I do. I leave my hair long because short do's only allow my curl to be more curly. One thing I find combats the frizzy's pretty well is a spray on luminator or a hair polisher (a good one is John Frieda). I know you asked for no styling products but outside of today's modern technology I have no suggestions.

I have wavy hair, and it seems that if I let it air dry without brushing it after I condition my hair, it seems to curb frizz. If I brush my hair when it's dry it goes crazy. I comb through my hair when it's soaked with conditioner with a wide-tooth comb, but other than that I don't brush. Maybe you could spread gel on your hair when it's soaking wet. You won't get a straight look, I assure you, but perhaps you won't have such a bad frizz problem. I have thin hair (although I have a lot of it) so straightening is not an option for me! Now that I've stopped brushing it so much I have less split ends and frizz.

> I have naturally curly hair. And I know what a problem frizzy hair is. I use gel then I blow dry my hair in sections with a round brush, and then spray it with hairspray. My hair is never damaged and is never frizzy. I blow dry it straight everyday and I have no damage what so ever. People even think I have straight hair. I will give you a tip on how to get rid of the wavyness. I got my hair highlighted and now my hair is not frizzy when I let it airdry and it is not as curly. Getting your hair highlighted will make it less wavy. I hope this has helped you out.
