Would a semi-permanent color like Natural Instincts (or a similar brand) be good to add gold tones to my medium neutral brown hair? I don't want to lighten the hair, but I just want to add some warm tones to it. I want to start out semi-permanent because if I don't like it it will wash out eventually. ( I will do a strand test first of course.)If I get a semi-perm. color in a medium golden brown, will the warm tones be visible in my hair?

Just stick to the green colorblocks (the boxes are color coded). I think it is "suede" that adds really nice golden tones without being too brassy or red. I wish I had stuck to that rather than going with a permanent color. Good luck!Note: I do find however that even though the color washes mostly out, it never really returns to exactly my natural color, but you could get a neutral shade of NI and even back out if you wanted.
