I have coarse, short, layered hair that I am growing out. I have been doing a double process to platinum blonde for years now with no trouble. I never heat-style and I use reconstructors, etc. A few months back, I tried a different toner when touching up the roots and ended up with this hideous, brassy red-blonde. Every time I retouched the ingrowth, I applied it to the red parts, probably three times, to get it all platinum again. A few weeks later, I noticed my hair was beginning to break off at the point of that fateful bleaching, and it's been going like gangbusters since. I started using Redken Anti-snap but that doesn't stop the clumps coming out(particularly when it's wet). Am I going to have to chop it all off again or is there any way to save a year of work?

HiWhen i had a similar breakage problem from bleaching, I used Nexxus Emergencee and it helped me immensely. The breaking stopped. It's expensive stuff, but it will literally save your hair. It's an intense protein, hair-bonding formula. I've seen nothing else like it at all, and I'm a hair product junkie. It really noticably coats the hair and makes it much stronger and thicker. Apply it to damp, towel dried hair, then put a plactic cap over your head. If possible, apply heat. Leave it on at least 30 minutes. Use it as often as 3-4 times in the first week to halt the breakage. After that, use it once per week to maintain the hair strength.

> I would try Redkens Extreme treatment..To Kate;Try Redken PPT and Joico K-Pak mixed with 25% wheat germ oil and cover your hair with a cap, sit under a hot drier for 3o mins and rinse with very cool water after it has cooled to room temp. Be very gentle in all handling of your hair. Do this a couple of times per week until it improves. You should see an almost immediate improvement. If not its short crop cut time! Most people do not realize that repeated bleaching/coloring of the same hair will literally dissolve it.william
