Is there a product line out there that is low cost yet not damaging to hair? There are 5 girls/ women in my family and we need to watch our budget but still want nice hair! Any suggestions? Especially shampoo and conditioner.

Hi-I think the Aussie line is one of the better, lower cost lines available.

I wash my hair every day, and it has held up quite well.

Hi Jennifer,I like Nature's gate shampoo and conditioner. I think they are about $2.99 each at Target. Target's around here carry only 3 or 4 types of NG. I am curretnly using Chamomile. It smells great and I get nice soft hair. I have the Awapuhi (sp?) but haven't tried it yet. Target also has a line of Freeman products. I have the Shiney hair shampoo and conditioner. They are nice too. The salon products can get real pricey. Last week I was at the mall and a Mastercuts had a table of sale products and I got some Artec shampoo and conditioner for half price. You might try looking at some of the mall salons when they have those big sidewalk sale days.

There was a shampoo and conditioner review in the December 1996 edition of Consumer Reports. This edition can be found on the back shelves or on microfilm in a library. Obviously, this information is a bit dated but I thought I'd pass this along just in case.Regards,Daremo
