My natural hair color is light brown. Lately, over the last three years, I have noticed my hair tends to take on a brassy/orange color. I have tried to color my hair to hide this brassy/orange color, but so far, nothing has worked. Is there a product out there that can get rid of the orange in my hair and leave my natural color?

tracy-it sounds like natural exposure to sun and maybe swimming (?) has caused your hair to lighten. Try using a good leave-in conditioner (I love the one Kiehl's makes) with sunscreen to protect your hair from the UV fades. If you do swim, be sure to wear a cap and also use a strong dose of the leave-in conditioner to protect your hair from chlorine. This will act as prevention for discoloration in the future. To correct the existing brassiness, you must select a hair color with ASH tone (no golds!), to eliminate the brassy/red colors. Redken Shades EQ is fantastic for both coloring and conditioning the hair. Also, buy what's called a drabber product (available at Sally's and other beauty supply stroes) Use it according to the package directions to further ensure no unwanted red or orange-y tones.good luck :) silvie
