I have been growing out a short, layered cut and the layers were driving me crazy. I finally spoke to a stylist and he recommended having the layers blended. He cut little v's into each layer, which allows them to blend into each other. My hair is much more manageable and I didn't really lose any length. It works!

Me too! I have 2 layers left to go. so the end is in sight thank goodness. It is driving me nuts. That sounds like a great tip. I plan to get my next trim in a month or so and have been debating on how much to have cut off. 3-4" would get almost everything one length but I can't bear to have that much cut off now that my hair is feeling long again. Maybe I could just have 1" cut off and the rest blended. Should I just ask for blending with little V's? I am so anxious to have long all one length hair again. I caught sight of myself in a store window this morning and I was surprised at just how long my hair was getting. I made me feel pretty good. If I am ever tempted to get layers again, somebody smack me!Carolyn B

Just ask if she can blend the layers without sacrificing length. My stylist referred to it as "cutting into the layers" Good luck! I know what you mean about never getting layers again....I have a long way to go with mine, but I'm committed to this.
