thanks cheri for your reply to nov. 9th question. my hair is bleached but the born blond toner is faded and it doesnt have any peroxide in it so i didnt think this is double processing. if the stylist doesnt use a filler should i say something, i have heard that brown low lights on bleached hair can turn green. also is the filler colored? and since she will use a cap i know there will be spaces of outgrowth in between, will it blend in?with foil i cant see that i would have short spaces.thank you.

Sue

This is why I mentioned filler. (and yes, this is why some hair will turn green.Without the filler replacing the natural red tones, the hair grabs the base color of the tint, and if the tint happens to be an ash with a green base, you have green hair) You should discuss the use of filler with your hairdresser before the color is applied. When you have your consultation, ask him/her exactly what they plan to do. Ask about problems of fading and how to avoid. Don't be afraid to bring up the various things you have learned here. Communication is a big factor in being happy with the outcome of your haircolor. regarding the cap question: If I understand your question, you are wondering if the cap method will leave more of a demarcation ? Well, it shouldn't. With both the foil and the cap method, the color is going to be appx 1/4 inch from the scalp. Tinting back the hair that has been pulled through the cap should break up your demarcation. You will still be slightly darker at the roots but not as noticable as before.I should mention also, that my way is not the only way. There are many new techniques for corrective color being developed all the time. Although the previous is what I would probably do, your hairstylist is actually seeing you face to face, so dont be put off if she has other suggestions. The important thing is that she answer your questions and concerns, and that you feel satisfied with the answers and confident going into this.
