Hi,I almost bought a tube of it the other day but then seemed to recall that it had a very strong fragrance to it the last time I used it (long time ago) so I didn't buy it. Strongly perfumed products get to me after a while.I think V05 stand for "5 vital oils". If the ingredients are that basic, just those oils, I don't think you'd have a problem with the general health of your hair if you use a tiny bit to smooth down flyaways and frizzies, though it may build up some over time.Soka

Hi Holly :)My Mother has been a fan of Alberto VO5 hair dressing for years and even used it on my brother, sister, and I were little to help with the comb out of our thick hair. It's supposed to be a good product especially for dry or damaged hair. The only two things I'd caution you on about this product are:1)A little goes a long way.2)If you have an oily or sensitive scalp and apply this product to your scalp area on a regular basis, it could contribute to a potential scalp problem due to all the oils in this product.I know about the second one because when I was a juinor in college and growing out damaged hair from a perm, I found my Mother's V05 hair dressing and started using it on my hair and scalp on a regular basis. It made my hair very soft, shiny, and easier to manage. At the time though, I didn't have a clue that my scalp was oily and shouldn't be applying this kind of stuff to it. It was a big utoh. I really believe that my ignorance on my scalp type at this time and using the V05 on my scalp at the time as well as other conditioners, possibly contributed to my scalp troubles. But then again, I had dandruff off and on during my teen years which seemed to stop after my first dose of Accutane and then started to crop up again my senior year of college so all along I was prone to the condition.Hope I helped.Happy Thanksgiving, Holly!!Maria :)Related Link:Maria In Mass
