QuoteReplyTopic: What do you do with Haircareproducts that don't work for you? Posted: January 12 2000 at 6:53am
Hi,I bet you all make the same mistake sometimes, you buy a product that is expensive and works great for everyone else, but it just doesn't work for you at all. Then, what do you do? I have that problem right now, I bought some Aveda stylingstuff and Artec Texturecreme and Moisturepac , used them a few times and just don't like them. But they where too expensive to just throw them away. Does anybody know of a swapside, or a place where you can sell this high priced products? I bet a lot of you would love to have them, and I don't want them and don't know what to do about it. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help :)
I'm not sure this is a great idea or not since they've already been opened and used, but especially this time of year, all kinds of volunteer organizations are collecting not only food, but household staples for the less fortunate. You wouldn't be getting any money from the donation, but at least someone would be using the products!
Kate,There's a swap board over at naturallycurly.com (where the homepage is remarkably similar to Hair Boutique's...). I think you need to register with the site before posting. If you're interested, click the link below. Good luck.Related Link:naturallycurly.com swap board
We all react differently to different products. Now me I LOVE the MoisturePac and the Texturecreme! I love to try different products too. If I don't like a shampoo, I put it downstairs in the "boys bathroom" as I call it. I use one bathroom and my husband and son use the one in the basement. I give them any shampoos I don't like and all the hotel shampoos go down there too. They will use anything. My son's hair is barely an inch long and my husband doesn't have enough left to worry about what shampoo he uses. LOL! Sometimes I will pass something along to a friend or a friend's daughter to try. Otherwise it just sits in my bathroom closet until years and years go by and I throw it out.Carolyn B
Hi Jena! That is a great idea but do those organizations take opened products? I thought they would only accept new and unopened products. We have a 4 county women's and childrens shelter in a nearby town and I have thought of donating cosmetics that I didn't care for to them but I thought they would only take unopened things. I have lot of cosmetics and cosmetic samples that i would love to donate if they would take them. I guess I should give them a call. I have dozens of Clinique lipsticks that I got in bonuses that I will never because I don't like the color.Carolyn B
I never buy shampoo for my husband and sons because my husband travels a lot and we must have a gallon of shampoo if we dumped all the little bottles out into one big tank! {grin} I guess that would be one great advantage to having real short hair and keeping it short. Although some ingredients may bother the scalp, you really don't worry about split ends because the hair is constantly being cut!> We all react differently to different products. My guys miss using my hand me downs...now they have to buy their own!! :)Kathi

Thanks for the tip ,Dave. I posted it there, and already someone is interested in it. I hope it's going to work great for her, and I am sure it will since they are great products. But all in all it's a really good idea to have a swapboard, because it gives one a chance to try products without paying a lot of money for them. Thanks again :)> Kate,> There's a swap board over at naturallycurly.com (where> the homepage is remarkably similar to Hair> Boutique's...).
