OK, this is off the hair and beauty topic, but at least it's appearance related.

A couple weeks ago, I was washing a new sweater for the first time. Red on top, black on bottom, with a white stripe between the 2. The tag said Hand Wash, which I always interpret as Gentle Cycle in the machine. :)

So you probably know where this is going. It's 12:30am, I'm taking the wash out of the washer, and my white stripe is now a hideous shade of reddish pink! Yikes!

So I ran out to my nearest 24hour supermarket, and bought Shout Color Catchers. I'd seen an ad on TV and figured it was my only hope. I didn't give the sweater a chance to dry, just tossed in for another wash, by itself, and a Color Catcher sheet.

It worked like a charm! I'm so glad! I only wish Color Catchers existed a couple years ago when my husband ruined my favorite white button-down shirt in a color load. I had to throw that away.

Anyway, I'm so pleased, I had to share the word with everyone. Everybody has laundry horror like this sometimes.

I think it will only work if you haven't let the garments dry. For some reason, drying stains sets them.

But it may still work anyhow. What do I know?

Good luck!
