I am of Chinese/American descent but my hair is slick and perfectly straight. I want to have dreadlocks but my stylist told me that my hair is too slippery to knot up. Is this true? Is there some way I can work around this? Would I need to use a lot of wax maybe?

well, i don't have dreads, and i'm not asian...but my boyfriend is south-east asian and his hair is also very straight and smooth. He never gets any sort of tangle. I *think* it would be possibly for anyone to have dreads, but it might be more work for you. Get another opinion, perhaps from other people who have dreads instead of just a stylist.

The extension dreads from Dreadsfactory can be attached to practically any hair type.. so just try them. Look on www.dreadsfactory.com or www.dreads.nl

1) Grow it out, stay away from evil conservative hairstylists that want to cut your hair. I speak from experience. Hair grows about 6 inches a year.

2) Perm it, let the perm overprocess if you wish, makes it very frizzy. Say goodbye to your slick straight locks
