Has anyone tried Robert Craig haircolor? It's supposed to be permanent and also cover grey very well. And also very easy to apply, simply mixing with ordinary tap water.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, yes, I have used Robert Craig and generally love it because it is very gentle on hair. I had no damage at all because it does not have any amonia or peroxide or anything. The only downside was that it did not cover up the few stubborn gray hairs that I have in the front near the hairline. I did as the instructions said and left it on for almost 45 minutes (just on the gray part) and it still did not cover it up at all. But if the grays you have are not noticeable and you are looking for a very gentle haircolor then Robert Craig is the way to go. It mixes with water and when you shake it it becomes like a watery mousse type solution (kinda messy so watch out!) The cool thing with this color is that you can mix different colors together to form your own color. Check out their website for more info.

I used Robert Craig hair color for the first time 2 weeks ago. I really liked it because it did not do any damage to my hair, I could custom mix the colors and it was very easy. Like the above poster I too have a few gray that it just would not cover but overall I think it is a good product. I have just ordered the clear, I can't wait to get it.

Thanks! I was about to order two of the Medium Auburn. With our sorry financial situation, I am forced to do my hair at home. I'm only concerned about grey coverage, but at any rate, it is worth a try. If it worked then, I was going to order Clear to help maintain shine.

L'Oreal Excellance had been choice #1 until something jolted my memory about Robert Craig and the website contains a lot of info. I asked a question and received an answer just a few hours later. Also got the brochure with the colors.

The idea of being able to mix colors (and they help you stay within a safe range) is intriguing, and if the medium auburn is not rich enough then next I could mix it with Mahogony (they recommend auburn + mahogony to get a rich red color).

Will let the board know how it comes out. As long as I don't end up like a clown!
