dyeing hair every month or so....good or bad?

I know someone who goes to the salon every month or so to dye her hair into a new colour. One month, it's blonde, the next, brown, another month, orange-red, etc. Is this ok? I mean, doesn't dyeing your hair constantly damage your hair....even if you're getting it done professionally?
