QuoteReplyTopic: Suggestions of a at home color kit to color dark brown roots lighter? Posted: March 11 2004 at 7:45pm
Does anyone know of a good at home color kit I could use to color my dark, dark brown roots a lighter color. I have lite blond hair and color my roots a lite brown. I've have always gone to a stylist but am trying to see if I can avoid spending the $60 by using a kit without using bleach. Are there any good ones out there for what I want to do?
Thats an easy question. I have blonde highlights in my hair, and i actually like the root look. But my natural color is a very DARK brown, almost black. I want to achieve a light brown root with the blonde tips, something like you may remember Topanga had on the show Boy Meets World.
What I do to get my roots to a nice natural looking light brown, is I get a permanent haircolor from the beauty supply store in Lightest Ash Blonde. I mix it with 30 volume developer and apply it just to the roots. then 30 minutes later.... WALA! Its a pretty light brown.
You could probably just use a light ash blonde in any brand at the drug store. Always get ash so that it will rule out any brassiness.
